Are you a lover, or hater, or this soft white stuff, AKA Tofu? According to TofuBud, “Tofu originated in China more than two centuries ago. The production of tofu first began around 206 to 220BC allegedly during the Han Dynasty. It finally reached Japan in the 8th century AD.”
Tofu rose in popularity in the 1960s as a substitute for meat protein.
Tofu is also known as ‘bean curd’ and is widely used in Asian dishes but has gained strength in western civilization mostly due to its low calorie content and other nutrients.
Making Tofu Dishes
On TofuBud, they have this list of different types of tofu:
- Soft tofu
- Silken tofu
- Firm tofu
- Extra-firm tofu
- Super firm tofu
- Smoked tofu
- Dried tofu
- Fermented tofu
- Tofu skins
- Tofu puffs
- Tofu pockets
They also say, “Soft tofu is primarily used to make soups or salads and can also be used to create a delicious vegan “egg” scramble. Firm tofu can be stir-fried, fried, deep-fried, or baked. Tofu skin is used to wrap dim sum, and tofu pockets are used to make delicious inari sushi.”
Any way you slice it, it’s mighty interesting stuff!

The Power of Will
Sometimes your frailty can be the source of someone else’s strength.
Mariam Fischer has had it with men — especially good-looking, confident, overbearing, smooth-talking ones. Why won’t William Kordes get a clue?
The drop-dead gorgeous guy with seemingly more money than one person could ever spend in a lifetime, says he plans to change the world. Now, he wants to transform her world.
Unimpressed, Mariam has heard lines like that before. Promises like that only end in heartbreak. There’s only one problem. Miriam’s head is telling her one thing, but her heart feels differently.
Will hired Miriam on a whim after he screwed up her chance of getting a better job. Who knew she would be the perfect person to help catapult his business to a whole new level? Will became an inventor to help solve problems. Suddenly, his mission is very personal. Miriam doesn’t deserve to be in this much agony.
Fibromyalgia is an enemy he can’t see or touch. Even so, there has to be something he can do.
What if Will really can take away her pain as he promised?
There is something oddly intoxicating about the power of Will. Mallory wants to believe … just this once.

Traditional Popover Recipe from AllRecipes.com
I’ve only just learned today that a Popover is a version of the Brit’s Yorkshire Pudding. I recall devouring Yorkshire Pudding with roast beef and gravy, carrots, and roast potatoes, way back in the 70s.
A Popover is not a ‘sweet dessert’ by any means. To make a Cherry Popover is where you’ll have to get a bit creative. Again, Yorkshire Pudding is NOT sweet; it’s akin to having a slice of bread and butter with a savory meal.
According to Google: “Yorkshire pudding is made from a batter of eggs, flour, milk and salt and is similar to a popover in its texture and flavor. It is served as a side dish and is quite versatile in how it can be served.”
I suppose you’d add cherries and sugar to the mix, and bake it. Hey, if you try it and it doesn’t work—don’t blame me! I tried to find a Cherry Popover recipe at AllRecipes.com, but… if you have one, send it to me and I’ll share it with our readers.
Wishing you a splendid day!
Slapdash
For the record, ladies, if your ex-boyfriend asks you to pilot a plane to Mexico, no questions asked, the answer should be a resounding no.
Even if he holds your cat hostage, think twice before you drive your motorcycle to his biker club because chances are, he’ll hold a pistol to your head. At this point, you’ll have no choice but to do as told. Then, you could be arrested across the border and have to steal a plane to return home.
More careless behavior could get the attention of a Russian who threatens to blow up Times Square unless you steal a tidy sum in a hard wallet for him.
Worst of all, your fiancé might call you a danger magnet because it’s bloody well true.
Join Dash and Landy as they struggle through their next bounty hunting adventure. Beware of hilarious moments, heated scenes, and a nail-biting adventure. As always, no cliffhangers allowed here!
Hidden in the Writer’s Room
(Digital and print editions EDITED – thanks to reader reviews!)
She’d moved to L.A. straight out of college, but the closest Meghan Linden had come to Hollywood was the view from her office window.
So, when her best friend sets her up to audition for the pilot of a new sitcom, Meghan is hardly amused… That is, until she’s cast as the anonymous narrator for the show.
Now, she’s juggling a secret identity, avoiding the press, and trying to hide a crush on the man who now controls her future: Ryder Christianson, lead writer of “Truth in Advertising”.
When it all goes public, will laughter finally lead Meghan to love?
Taking a lead from successful debut novels like “Party Girl” by Rachel Hollis and “Twilight” by Stephanie Meyers, this is the rare romance that leaves the sex to the imagination… while still delivering the heat and the heart.
If you enjoy a sweet, modern happily ever after love story that doesn’t spare the snark, you will love Hidden in the Writer’s Room.
